This project, commissioned by Waseem Hassan, embodies our belief that even the most utilitarian needs can be addressed through thoughtful, high-end design. An old age home doesn’t have to feel clinical or dull; it can be warm, luxurious, and most importantly—deeply dignified.
The goal was clear from the outset: to create an interior environment that would support ease of movement, emotional comfort, and graceful aging—without sacrificing the elegance expected from a premium space. Every detail needed to reflect a harmonious balance of functionality and finesse. Our client wanted a space that could serve multiple seniors while still feeling like a warm, personal sanctuary.
We chose a contemporary style softened by warm neutral tones and natural textures. This helped establish a sense of calm and familiarity, which is essential for senior wellbeing. Modern design elements were kept clean and minimal to reduce visual clutter, while earthy tones, light woods, and textured fabrics added warmth and depth. The subtle sophistication of the space invites serenity, allowing residents to feel at peace.
Zoning was one of the most critical aspects of this design. We created clear, navigable pathways with minimal obstructions, ensuring ease of movement, particularly for those with mobility aids. Spaces were intuitively divided into communal areas for social interaction, private zones for solitude, and open zones for wellness activities. Each area flows seamlessly into the next, avoiding confusion and maximizing safety.
All finishes were selected with both aesthetics and safety in mind. Slip-resistant flooring, rounded furniture edges, and tactile materials added both security and sensory comfort. The color palette was composed of calming pastels and neutrals to promote relaxation and orientation. Accents in rich blues and greens introduced visual interest while maintaining a grounded, natural feel.
Lighting played a pivotal role in defining the mood and usability of this space. We incorporated layered lighting—ambient, task, and accent—to suit different times of day and various resident needs. Natural light was maximized wherever possible to enhance mood and circadian rhythm. Soft, indirect lighting helped prevent glare and created a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
Furniture was selected not just for style, but also for ergonomic support. Chairs with firm cushions and supportive armrests, beds with adjustable heights, and ample storage units were integrated to cater to elderly needs. Décor included warm-toned artworks, plush textiles, and indoor greenery—adding a sense of luxury and life to the space. Every piece serves a purpose while adding to the design’s elegance.
This project reflects how intentional design can uplift quality of life. Waseem Hassan shared that the space now feels “like home, but better.” The thoughtful planning, aesthetic choices, and bespoke details have created an environment where senior residents can thrive.
