It had to embody the essence of the brand while subtly guiding visitors toward a purchase decision. The Shape Interiors approached this project with a design philosophy rooted in commercial functionality, elegant minimalism, and impactful storytelling.
Durin’s Placket, a premium menswear label, required a showroom that would immediately communicate class, quality, and modern masculinity. Our primary design goal was to highlight the apparel while allowing the space to elevate the shopping experience — not overpower it. The challenge was to create a layout that was visually appealing yet practical for both browsing and business operations.
To ensure the space felt modern yet timeless, we adopted a contemporary design theme featuring clean lines, neutral backdrops, and a bold interplay of textures. This approach allowed the products to shine while ensuring the environment remained versatile for future seasonal rotations and collections. The muted tones and sleek design echoed the sophistication of Durin’s Placket’s brand identity.
Efficient layout planning and zoning were crucial. We divided the showroom into purposeful zones: featured product walls, accessory display shelves, trial zones, and back-office storage — all while maintaining a smooth circulation flow. The entrance was kept minimal but impactful, ensuring that every step into the store increased customer engagement with the brand.
We chose materials that subtly spoke luxury: matte black fixtures, warm wood textures, metal highlights, and soft greys. This layered material palette created depth without clutter, and every surface was selected for durability and elegance. The color palette complemented the brand’s classic menswear tones — helping the garments take center stage.
In showroom design, lighting is everything. We implemented multi-layered lighting, including ambient recessed lights, targeted spotlights on mannequins and display racks, and warmer lights for the seating and discussion area. This ensured the mood stayed refined while directing attention to key merchandise, enhancing the customer journey through light psychology.
Every design element served a purpose. Display furniture was customized for flexibility, while integrated storage allowed the team to maintain a pristine appearance. Seating zones for consultations and fittings were positioned strategically for privacy, while still being visually connected to the showroom. This perfect marriage of form and function played a vital role in client satisfaction.
What began as a plain commercial unit is now a high-end fashion space that reflects the brand’s ethos and supports its retail goals.
